Career
Peter specialises in leadership development, performance improvement in individuals and teams, organisational culture transformation programs, executive coaching and corporate facilitation. He has worked in over twenty six countries and has wide experience over a diverse range of industry sectors.
The approach Peter takes to working with individuals, teams and organisations is to focus upon performance improvements which are both substantive and sustainable. This requires an understanding of what has created the current situation, what is maintaining it, what prevents or makes change difficult and what really needs to happen in order to achieve progress. The intent behind this approach is to avoid the short term ‘Wow’ effect which fades quickly and create the conditions and pathway forward that will ensure long term improvement.
The core philosophy that underpins Peter’s work can be best summarised as a ‘Generative approach” – in a nutshell, this is looking at both the upside and downside of specific situations but focussing on where constructive impact and value can be leveraged. This approach allows for a realistic summation of the situation that individuals and teams find themselves in but also creates a constructive framework to identify where progress lies and what needs to happen.
The feedback Peter regularly receives refers to his clarity, his warmth, sense of humour and of overall importance his ability to deliver in an impactful and engaging manner.

- Leadership Development: Developing leadership capability in individuals, teams and at an organisational level. Working with individuals to set goals, identify current key mindsets, values and beliefs, and exploring how these influence the leadership behaviours they exhibit externally. Tools include 360 degree feedback processes, third party interviews and development programs.
- Designing and facilitating workshops, off-sites, and planning days on themes including strategic planning, team improvement, organisational culture transformation and leadership development. Methodologies include: Appreciative Inquiry; Robert Cialdini’s research around the science of Influence; positive psychology. Using myth and archetypes for Leadership development. A key component of this is called The Hero’s Journey.
- Organisational culture transformation programs with a focus on the need for an initial shift in mindsets and behaviours, in particular from within the ranks of leaders. Success is contingent upon the rigorous support by leadership and in particular the manner in which they role model the desired behavioural changes.
- Executive Coaching: Coaching a single individual or executive team rangiing from one session to longer term engagements lasting over years cascading top-down across organisations. Dealing with a wide range of leadership challenges. Focus is on understanding on a deeper level what are the real drivers of behaviour; working at a new level of mindfulness; identifying the changes needed and transform these into long term, sustainable improvement
- Team Alignment: Working with teams in the forming stage, dealing with problems and ‘undiscussables’, strategic direction and performance improvement. Exploring what is currently working well within the team and how to amplify this, where the challenges reside, what the team’s aspirations are and where the opportunities for progress lie.
