OnCourse facilitates the process of strategic planning by the use of large-scale graphic templates to help teams navigate and discover the most suitable and successful ways to meet their objectives.
Typically the team involved in the planning session includes members of various departments and outside partners who are integral to future vision and success.
The process utilises a ‘Graphic Language’ to answer four fundamental questions:
1. Where have we been? Use the benefit of hindsight to create insightful foresight.
2. Where are we now? Take a hard look at your own organisation and the operating environment.
3. Where do we want to be? Set clear objectives, identify challenges, opportunities and plan contingencies.
4. How do we get there? Develop clear strategies, initiate tactics and deliverables to action outcomes.
The Strategic Action Mapping™ process incorporates a variety of templates and is highly interactive.

Developed by OnCourse founder Joseph A Loewy, the key template is the Strategy Action Map® (above) which is developed over the course of the Workshop. Other templates may also be utilised to feed into the master plan via the Strategy Action Map®.

The templates used are large format (8 ’x 4' / 230cm x 150cm) sheets where relevant information is gathered in both pictures and words as the group develops the ideas. These include the History Map®, Context Map® and other relevant templates and become the foundation of the Strategy Action Map® — and act as a permanent record after the workshop.
Our experience has shown that with the use of the ‘Graphic Gameplans®’ and ‘Graphic Roadmap®’ OnCourse’s intervention can be minimal as your internal team takes the responsibility to drive the day-to-day actions. However, our affiliate ETVIA can assist in the day to day challenges of 'keeping on track.'
